Waiting Jumoke Verissimo - Nigeria
Under the flicks of amber light And plashes of fluorescent lamp, I tripped, split, united, came into Self; I woke up in in your heart
Before that one night, my drunken Shadow lacked counsel, having for Many years lived soulless; it longed For wholeness: I led them to you.
Hoping you'll take them Somewhere; as your blood But you returned them, sober.
In one night, I settled in you, travelled On your skin: from a fleshy-district to Another, I learnt the crevices of your Fire, I rode with ease; your emotions.
By morning; your least upped me. I, Who was below water levels for years Woke, as a body of water, edging Passion's shore, to be: soul and blood.
