حين بدأت الندوة العربية في إبريل 2004 كان هدفي الأساسي هو جذب العرب الذين يعيشون في هونج كونج لقراءة الشعر العربي. بدأت بعدها أركز أكثر على غير العرب المهتمين بالشعر العربي أو بالشعر عامة. ترجمة الشعر من اللغة الصينية والإنجليزية إلى العربية والعكس أصبح لب الندوة العربية التي تحولت لندوة شعر بثلاث لغات على الأقل. يوجد الآن شعراء من جنسيات مختلفة يحضرون الندوة وحضورهم هو الوقود الحقيقي الذي يجعلها مستمرة. كل الحضور, شعراء أو غير شعراء, يجب أن يرجع لهم الفضل الحقيقي في استمرارية الندوة العربية حتى الآن. الشيء الهام فعلاً هو الدور الذي تلعبه الندوة العربية كجسر بين ثقافات مختلفة فالتفاهم هو ما نحتاجه فعلاً في وقت سادت فيه الفوضى واتسم فيه كل شيء بعدم الوضوح. مرحباً بشعراء العربية في كل مكان أن يراسلوا الموقع وسنرحب بنشر أعمالهم بشرط أن تكون مناسبة للنشر. يمكنكم زيارة الموقع التالي لمعرفة المزيد عن كاتب هذه السطور: http://www.blacksmithbooks.com/sayedgouda.htm

When I started the Arabic Nadwah in April 2004, my main objective was to attract Arabs who live in Hong Kong to read Arabic poetry. Later on, I focused more on non-Arabs who are interested in Arabic poetry or poetry in general. Translating poems from Chinese and English into Arabic and vice-versa became the core of the Arabic Nadwah which turned into a trilingual poetry session and sometimes we read poetry in more than three languages. Now there are poets from different nationalities attend the Nadwah and their attendance is the real fuel that keeps it running. All the attendants, poets or non-poets, should have the real credit for the existence of the Arabic Nadwah. What is really important is the role that the Arabic Nadwah is playing now as a bridge between different cultures. In a time that everything seems blurry, and chaos dominates the scene, understanding is what we really need.
